Bacteria are arguably the most diverse group of microorganisms. Normally, bacteria are classified into two big groups based on their cell wall: Gram-positive & Gram-negative bacteria. Other than that, there are many other bases of classification used to classify bacteria such as: shape, mode of nutrition, temperature requirement, oxygen requirement, pH of growth, number of flagella, and spore formation. Let’s take a look at each classification one by one.
